Policies - Classroom Procedures-Asking Questions

  Return to Home Page

  • If during a lecture, discussion, or question period a cadet has a question, he/she will proceed in the following manner:
  • The Cadet will raise their hand. And, await recognition from the speaker. If the speaker recognizes another person, the cadet will lower their hand until the next question is asked for.
  • If recognized by the speaker, the cadet will stand, come to the position of attention, and state the following:

      "Sir/Ma'am, I am cadet (state rank) ______, from ______ High School. I have a Question!"

The speaker will recognize the cadet and direct them to proceed with the question.

  • The cadet will state the question in the manner most clear to themselves and the speaker.
  • The cadet will remain standing until the question is answered. Upon completion, the cadet will state:

"Sir/Ma'am, thank you, Sir/Ma'am."

 

  • When asked a question, the student will stand next to their desk, assume the position of attention, and answer the question in the most direct manner. When complete, they will retake their seat.
